More About Chocolate Making...

This superb workshop will allow you to indulge in the nation's favourite guilty pleasure (although why anyone should feel guilty of chocolate we're not quite sure?!?) and learn from an expert chocolatier.

Some might prefer to deal in crude oil, sand, coal or gold, but of all the world's greatest commodities surely the humble cocoa bean has to be one of its most celebrated? You'll learn a brief history of chocolate during this session which will reveal some amazing foodie and chocolate based facts.

Did you know...?

  • The scent of chocolate increases theta brainwaves which in turn trigger relaxation.
  • White chocolate isn't technically chocolate at all as it contains no cocoa solids or liquids.
  • Chocolate was originally consumed as a liquid and it's only relatively recently that it has been turned into the solid staple we know today.
  • The chocolate bar was first invented in York by Joseph Fry (who founded Fry's Chocolate).
  • The average Briton devours 11.2kg of the stuff every year. That's the equivalent of 266 mars bars!

This is a brilliant stress-buster, and it's the perfect activity for engendering team spirit in your organization. Take the team out of the boardroom and into the kitchen for some chocolate making fun outside of the office environment.

Having ingested some foodie facts you'll then put on your protective hat and aprons as the expert shows you how to create beautiful hand crafted chocolates. Once you've learnt the tricks of the trade it's time to get hands on and acquire some mouth-wateringly good new skills.

You'll be creating and decorating exquisite Belgian truffles in a new class that could become a great way to surprise friends and family with handmade gifts at Christmas. This is certainly one class everyone will want to get hands on with, and if a few chocolates happen to get accidentally eaten during the class... well that's just "quality control".
